Software Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer to support the development of advanced electronic systems for a next-generation aerospace platform. This role is part of a high-impact engineering team focused on delivering mission-critical software solutions in a secure, hosted environment. This position will be onsite in Owego, NY in a 4-day work week schedule! 



Roles & Responsibilities: 

• Support ongoing software development, integration, and test activities 
• Develop software design artifacts and source code 
• Create and execute software test procedures and document results 
• Support software integration activities both onsite and at various locations as needed 
• Conduct and participate in engineering technical reviews 
• Document work and artifacts in Engineering Data SDRL 
• Schedule: 4-day work week (4x10 schedule) with 3 days off every week 

Required Skills & Experience: 

• 7+ years of software engineering experience 
• 5+ years of applicable domain experience 
• 5+ years of experience with C/C++, Python, and Microsoft Developer Studio 
• 5+ years of experience with software verification methods and practices 
• 3+ years of experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) 
• Experience coding for flight trainers, MODSIM, and flight safety systems 
• Familiarity with DO-178 regulated environments 
• U.S. Citizenship required 
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field 

Compensation & Benefits: 

• Compensation: $120,000 to $230,000 (L1–L5) 
• Per Diem: $2,848/month or Relocation Assistance available
