This is a dynamic, high-impact role for engineers who thrive in fast-paced, startup-energy environments and want their work to literally reach orbit.

• Conduct root-cause analysis (RCA) of defects such as vibration-induced shorts, implementing corrective actions to achieve 97%+ yield.

• Support AIT (Assembly, Integration & Test) through EMI, thermal, and vibration testing of harnesses and subsystems.

• Create and maintain detailed manufacturing documentation, work instructions, and training materials.

• Collaborate with mechanical, power, and antenna teams to optimize harness routing for weight, thermal efficiency, and scalability.

• Contribute to process improvements enabling production of up to six satellites per month.

Qualifications for the Harness Manufacturing Engineer:

3–7 years of hands-on experience in harness manufacturing, wiring assembly, or electrical integration.

• Proficiency in Capital HarnessXC, SEE Electrical, or similar CAD tools.

• Certified to IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards; experience in cleanroom environments.

• Demonstrated experience with crimping, routing, soldering, and pull-testing (100 lb tensile).

• Strong troubleshooting and process-improvement mindset with RCA familiarity.

U.S. citizenship required. Willingness to relocate to Midland, TX.

• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Experience: Aerospace or satellite manufacturing, LEO or phased-array systems, Lean/Six Sigma.

• Salary: $90,000 – $100,000 + RSUs (3-year vesting)

• Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage

• 401(k) with company match

• Onsite schedule (4–5 days per week in Midland cleanrooms)

• Growth potential within AST’s rapidly expanding manufacturing team
