Oracle SQL Developer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Oracle SQL Developer to join a Federal Program located in Merrifield, VA.

Responsibilities of the Oracle SQL Developer include:

·      Optimize Oracle databases using PL/SQL scripting, SQL tuning, and routine maintenance.

·      Develop and maintain Unix/Linux shell scripts for automation and operational tasks.

·      Support and maintain legacy applications built on ASP/IIS and Java/Eclipse/WebSphere.

·      Apply knowledge of data structures and algorithms to improve code efficiency.

·      Utilize source control tools (Git, SVN) for collaborative development.

·      Perform full software lifecycle activities: analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and troubleshooting production issues.

·      Optional tasks may include working with .NET, C++, ASP, or Perl for web components or integrations.

Qualifications for the Oracle SQL Developer include:

·      Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of software development experience.

·      Experience supporting ASP/IIS and Java/Eclipse/WebSphere applications.

·      Oracle database development expertise (PL/SQL scripting, SQL optimization, database maintenance).

·      Proficiency in Unix/Linux shell scripting.

·      Strong understanding of computer data structures and algorithms.

·      Experience with source control software (Git, Subversion, etc.).

·      Optional skills (a plus):

o  VB.NET, C# .NET development

o  C/C++ development

o  Classic ASP VBScript

o  Perl scripting

·      Ability to perform software development, testing, and provide support across all phases of the software lifecycle.

·      Windows experience.

·      Strong analysis and design capabilities.

·      In-depth knowledge of software engineering techniques and concepts.

·      Excellent oral and written communication skills.

·      Ability to work independently or as part of a development team.

·      Capability to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.

·      Must be able to obtain a Public Trust.

Compensation for the Oracle SQL Developer includes:

·      Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000 depending on experience
