Project Leader-Telecom

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Project Leader to oversee complex telecommunications infrastructure projects, ensuring strategic execution, timely delivery, and profitable outcomes. This leadership role involves managing multiple concurrent projects and mentoring junior staff while driving excellence in design, deployment, and financial performance. Location is Manassas, VA and the surrounding areas.

 Responsibilities for Project Leader:

• Lead the design and implementation of integrated telecommunications systems including Fiber Optic, Structured Cabling, CCTV, OSP/ISP Copper, and DAS.
• Manage project lifecycle from bidding through closeout, including financial oversight, scheduling, and manpower planning.
• Develop and maintain resource-loaded schedules using MS Project or Primavera P6.
• Conduct project kick-off meetings (PKOM) and monthly reviews (KPR) to track progress and resolve issues.
• Collaborate with superintendents and engineering teams to prepare documentation, layouts, and field support.
• Oversee subcontractor performance and ensure alignment with M.C. Dean’s installation scope.
• Forecast cash flow and manpower needs; maintain positive project financials and profitability.
• Prepare design/build estimates, submittals, and change orders; present proposals to clients.
• Interpret plans and contract terms for staff and stakeholders; resolve construction-related challenges.
• Coordinate procurement of materials, tools, and equipment with warehouse and project teams.
• Ensure timely project completion including punch-list items, as-built drawings, and O&M manuals.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities, quality improvements, and implement best practices.
• Support training and administrative compliance per contract requirements.

 Qualifications for Project Leader:

• U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain security clearance if needed.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, IT, Construction Management, or related discipline with 7+ years of experience in Telecommunications and Security Systems construction.
• Alternatively, Master’s Degree with 5+ years of related experience.
• Proven track record managing $500K–$10M+ telecommunications scopes across Federal Aviation, Government Airports, Higher Education, and Transit Systems.
• 3–5 years of experience in full-cycle project management including budgeting, scheduling, and client engagement.
• Proficiency in Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling and tools such as MS Project or Primavera P6.
• Strong working knowledge of low-voltage construction functions and specialty-trade coordination.
• Skilled in software tools, including Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Accubid, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Compensation for Project Leader:

• $115,000-$130,000-flexible based on experience
