Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Network Engineer – TS/SCI to support a high-impact initiative with an organization in Oakton, Virginia. The Senior Network Engineer – TS/SCI role is onsite (5 days a week) for 6 months and focused on enhancing network visibility, security, and performance monitoring across complex environments.
Responsibilities for the Senior Network Engineer – TS/SCI include:
- Analyze PCAP data to identify threats, anomalies, and performance issues
- Establish and maintain baseline profiles for “normal” network behavior
- Conduct protocol-level analysis (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, SMTP, TLS, VPN)
- Develop technical and non-technical reports, summaries, and actionable insights
- Tune alerts, dashboards, and data feeds based on network traffic sources
- Mentor junior engineers and analysts on advanced traffic analysis techniques
- Document and improve troubleshooting procedures (e.g., MTU/fragmentation)
Requirements for the Senior Network Engineer – TS/SCI include:
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- Ability to work onsite Monday – Friday in Oakton, Virginia
- 5+ years of Network Engineering experience (Route/Switch)
- Deep experience in network traffic analysis and protocol-level troubleshooting
- Proficiency in analyzing PCAP data and tuning monitoring tools.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Compensation for the Senior Network Engineer -TS/SCI includes:
- Salary: $130,000 - $170,000
- Full comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, and sick leave as required by law
