Full Stack Developer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Full Stack Developer to support mission-unique software development for U.S. government satellite operations, while also contributing to core product development. You’ll work across backend and frontend systems to build scalable, secure, and high-performance applications using Python, AWS, and modern JavaScript frameworks. No prior space experience is required—think of satellites as flying servers you connect to every 90 minutes. We connect to hundreds. This hybrid role is based in Southern California and involves close collaboration with satellite operators, customers, and engineers to deliver reliable, cloud-native solutions for satellite command and control. Candidates must hold an active TS/SCI Clearance.

Responsibilities of the Full Stack Developer include: 

• Develop and maintain full stack applications supporting satellite operations.
• Build APIs and integrate with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, Fargate, EKS).
• Design and troubleshoot distributed systems, caching layers, and event-driven architectures.
• Work with React components in TypeScript using frameworks like Next.js and Refine.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement new features.
• Optimize software for scalability, cost, and performance.
• Automate tasks and build CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tools.
• Contribute to both backend and frontend development in a secure, mission-critical environment.

Qualifications for the Full Stack Developer include: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 4+ years of professional experience in backend or full stack development.
• Active U.S. Security Clearance (TS/SCI) required.
• Proficiency in Python, GraphQL, Docker, and Terraform (or similar IaC tools).
• Familiarity with JavaScript and experience in full stack or frontend development.
• Experience with React, TypeScript, and frameworks like Next.js, Refine, Blitz.js, or RedwoodJS.
• Strong understanding of containerized applications and serverless architecture.
• Experience with Kubernetes and AWS services (Lambda, ECS, EKS, CloudWatch, S3, EFS/EBS, EC2, RDS).
• Strong knowledge of API design, distributed databases (NoSQL and relational), and multi-tier systems.
• CI/CD pipeline development with GitHub or GitLab.
• Version control using Git and GitLab or similar tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and technical analysis skills.
• Independent self-starter with excellent time management.
• High standards for software quality, maintainability, and performance.
• Effective communicator across frontend, backend, and product teams.

 Compensation for the Full Stack Developer include: 

• Salary Range: $120,000-180,000 **depending on experience** 
• Full Benefits: Cigna Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Sick Leave if required by law, and Holidays
