System Architect

Piper Companies is seeking a System Architect who will support mission critical operations within classified environments. The system architect will be onsite located in Reston, VA or RTP, NC. For this opportunity, the right individual must be able to obtain or maintain a security clearance.

Responsibilities for the System Architect include:

-       Design and implement scalable, secure system architectures for classified environments.

-       Lead container orchestration efforts to secure deployment and lifecycle

-       Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code

-       Administer and secure AWS cloud environments, specifically within integration and access control

-       Ensure systems meet compliance standards

-       Support patching, monitoring, and hardening of operating systems and network components.

Requirements for the System Architect include:

-       Previous experience with system architecting in a U.S government classified environment

-       Expertise with containerization technologies such as Kubernetes

-       Strong proficiency in terraform, Terragrunt, or IaC

-       Hands on experience with AWS cloud services and security configurations.

-       Compliant certifications including CISSP, Security+, GSEC, etc.

-       Experience with configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, and firewalls

-       Splunk experience

Compensation for the System Architect includes:

-       Salary range: $160,000 - $185,000
