Composite Technician II and III

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Composite Technician Levels II and III to join our team in Pascagoula, MS. The Electrical Technician will support the Department of Defense with the installation, repair, and troubleshooting of composite lamination and lay-up processes aboard various Navy ship classes across U.S. coastal installations.  

Responsibilities of the Composite Technician include:

·        Participate in composite certification and qualification training

·        Perform composite repairs and modifications to shipboard structures as part of a small, skilled team

·        Follow all applicable installation procedures and standards

·        Maintain accurate documentation in the project QA book

·        Provide daily progress updates to supervisors or team leads

·        Handle composite materials safely and comply with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding hazardous materials

·        Adhere to shipyard, shipboard, and OSHA safety protocols

·        Uphold quality standards as outlined in the Composite Workbooks and Composite Owner’s Manual

·        Support shipboard availabilities and maintenance cycles with a collaborative crew

Qualifications for the Composite Technician include:

·        2+ years of experience with shipboard composite repair

·        Familiarity with the Composite Owner’s Manual and Composite Work Item Workbook

·        OSHA 10 certification required or willingness to obtain

·        Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

·        Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs independently

·        Willingness to travel in support of ship maintenance at various locations

·        Flexible scheduling to accommodate Navy operational timelines

·        Solid understanding of safety protocols and procedures

·        Comfortable working in confined shipboard spaces

·        Must be punctual, dependable, and available to work Monday–Friday (40 hours/week) with flexibility for weekend shifts as needed

·        Must be able to obtain and maintain DBIDS base access

·        Must be able to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance

Compensation for the Composite Technician includes:

·        Salary Range: $55,000 - $70,000 depending on experience
