Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Facility Security Officer to join a NNSA Program located in Washington, DC through 100% full onsite presence. The Facility Security Officer will lead critical security operations supporting the Department of Energy - safeguarding classified information and ensuring compliance with national security standards.
Responsibilities of the Network Engineer Tier 3 include:
- Personnel Security Management: process access paperwork, conduct background checks, & maintain clearance records for employees & contractors
- Security Program Development & Compliance: design & implement comprehensive security programs aligned with federal regulations (NISPOM, DFARS, ICDS)
- COMSEC Oversight: manage & safeguard communications security (COMSEC) materials & equipment, including secure storage, transfer & destruction
- Security Training & Awareness: provide ongoing training to staff on handling classified materials, threat recognition & security protocols
- Security Audits: & Incident Response: conduct inspections, investigate violations, & report security incidents ensuring corrective actions are taken
- Physical Security & Access Control: implement & maintain systems like surveillance, visitor management, & access controls to protect sensitive areas
- Liaison with Government Agencies: serve as the primary point of contact with agencies such as DOE, DSS, & NRO for security reviews & compliance
- Records & Reporting: maintain accurate documentation of security activities, COMSEC inventories, & ensure regulatory reporting is up to date
Qualifications of the Network Engineer Tier 3 include:
- Expertise in Security Management: proven ability to develop, implement, & oversee security policies & industrial security programs
- Strong knowledge of Federal Security Regulations: familiar with NISPOM, DFARS, ICDs, SAP guidelines & other government directives
- Active Top Secret or DOE Q Clearance
- Proficiency with Security Systems Tools: skills in platforms like DISS, e-QIP, Scattered Castles, JADE, & Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent Communication & Interpersonal Skills: able to collaborate with internal teams & external government agencies effectively
- Audit & Inspection Readiness: experience preparing for & responding to government security audits & inspections
- Independent Decision-Making & Multitasking: capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-security environment
Compensation for the Network Engineer Tier 3 includes:
- Salary Range: $150,000-$160,000 **depending on experience**
