GIS Analyst

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a talented and motivated GIS Analyst to support the U.S. Department of Transportation in developing and maintaining geospatial solutions. The ideal candidate will be experienced in ESRI ArcGIS Suite, spatial data management, and GIS web application development. This role in fully onsite in Ashburn, VA.  

Responsibilities of the GIS Analyst include: 

• Lead and manage GIS projects using Agile or similar methodologies. 
• Design, develop, and maintain GIS web applications for internal and external stakeholders. 
• Create compelling data visualizations to support decision-making across the agency. 
• Stay current with emerging GIS and web technologies and apply them to enhance agency capabilities. 
• Maintain the agency’s GIS repository, ensuring data quality, integrity, and proper metadata documentation. 
• Administer ArcGIS Online, including user and role management. 
• Ensure GIS systems comply with agency security and data governance standards. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align GIS solutions with organizational goals. 

Qualifications for the GIS Analyst include: 

• 3+ years of experience  
• Strong knowledge of relational database architecture and management. 
• Proficiency in ESRI tools, including: 
• ArcGIS Pro 
• ArcGIS Online Administration 
• ArcGIS Enterprise 
• ESRI Field Maps 
• ESRI Experience Builder 
• Expertise in spatial data management and analysis. 
• Experience with: 
• Linear Referencing 
• Projections and Coordinate Systems 
• Python scripting for automation and analysis. 
• Solid understanding of data visualization principles and best practices. 

 Compensation for the GIS Analyst include: 

Salary Range: $80,000-90,000 (based on experience)
