Zachary Piper Solutions is in need of a Cloud Engineer - Tier 3. This position is in support of a contract with the Department of Energy and will be a full time on-site role in Washington, DC.
The Cloud Engineer - Tier 3, will optimize the cloud infrastructure to boost performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency, while refining the organization's cloud systems, streamlining operations, and ensuring that cloud services effectively drive business growth and innovation. This engineer is expected to be technically proficient and play a crucial role in improving cloud infrastructure, automating processes, and ensuring the overall health and security of cloud systems. Success will be measured by a combination of performance metrics, technical expertise, collaboration, leadership, and their ability to solve complex issues and innovate for business growth.
- MTTR (Mean Time to Recovery): Time taken to recover from outages or incidents.
- MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures): Time between failures for the systems they manage.
- Cost Savings: Cloud cost optimizations implemented and realized savings.
- Automation Efficiency: Reduction in manual tasks due to automation.
- Customer Satisfaction Scores: Feedback from internal or external stakeholders.
- Security Posture: Number of security vulnerabilities identified and mitigated.
- Operational Uptime: Service uptime and reliability metrics.
- Incident Handling: Success rate in resolving complex incidents or escalations.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Research, design, develop, test, debug and evaluate systems/applications that support cloud implementation and integrate with cloud service providers, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
- Monitor system performance and availability; Identify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues.
- Gather customer, user, and product owner requirements working together with application architects and product owners.
- Plan and conduct technical tasks associated with the implementation and maintenance of internal cloud enterprise shared virtualization infrastructure.
- Create functional design specifications, architectures, and render support with other cloud project deliverables.
- Develop and execute cloud solution roadmaps as they relate to business and execute company strategy to drive the achievement of business objectives.
- Work collaboratively with security specialists to support the accreditation of the new architecture and application.
Requirements:
- BS or equivalent experience + 8 yrs experience as a Cloud Engineer
- Active Top Secret clearance or DOE Q clearance
Compensation Includes:
- $160,000 - $200,000 *depending on experience*
