Windows Platform Engineer (Secret Clearance)

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Windows Platform Engineer to support a large-scale federal enterprise program in Norfolk, VA. This is a 100% onsite position supporting mission-critical Windows Server infrastructure, cybersecurity compliance initiatives, and enterprise operations within a complex distributed environment.

Responsibilities of the Site Reliability Engineer (Windows Platform Services):

• Perform Windows Server patching, IAVA vulnerability remediation, and security compliance activities.
• Build, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022 environments.
• Support the full infrastructure lifecycle, including installation, administration, upgrades, monitoring, and decommissioning.
• Conduct STIG remediation and support ongoing cybersecurity compliance requirements.
• Troubleshoot operating system, infrastructure, patching, and application-related issues while improving reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with internal teams, customers, subcontractors, and vendors supporting enterprise systems and services.
• Support an alternate schedule working afternoon/evening shifts Tuesday through Saturday.

Qualifications for the Windows Platform Engineer:

• Active DoD Secret Security Clearance required.
• Current Security+ certification required.
• 2-5 years of experience supporting Windows Server administration, enterprise infrastructure, or IT operations environments.
• Experience with Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022 administration and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of Windows patch management, IAVA remediation, STIG compliance, and cybersecurity best practices.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Compensation for the Windows Platform Engineer:

• Salary range: $90,000 - $100,000 (depending on experience)
