Linux System Administrator (TS/SCI Full Scope Poly)

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Linux System Administrator to support a classified Intelligence program in Annapolis Junction, MD. The team is seeking a system administrator to provide support to a RHEL High Performance Computing Cluster to optimize an enterprise network for the Maryland Intelligence Customer.

Clearance: Active TS/SCI Full Scope Polygraph Clearance (MD Customer)

Responsibilities of the Linux System Engineer:   

• Design and implement secure systems using best practices in software and systems engineering.
• Provide comprehensive IT support in secure lab environments, covering desktops to servers.
• Manage system access, apply patches, and plan hardware/software releases for HPC clusters
• Support classified networks and ensure adherence to security compliance standards.
• Administer and maintain Linux systems, including virtualized environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues; automate tasks using scripting tools (e.g., PowerShell).
• Integrate and maintain applications and infrastructure in alignment with RMF/JSIG standards.

 Qualifications of the Linux System Engineer:  

• Active TS/SCI Full Scope Polygraph (MD) required to be considered
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline and 5+ years of prior relevant experience
• Strong background in Linux and Windows OS installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with IT hardware, networking equipment, and HPC systems.
• Experience with tools such as; Cadence, Atlassian, DOORS, GitHub
• Experience with embedded Linux and VxWorks
• Experience managing and integrating virtual machines

Compensation of the Linux System Engineer:

• Total compensation based on experience level - $130,000 - $200,000+**based on total years of experience**
