Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join an Army infrastructure transformation through 100% remote presence. The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will join a high-impact migration team working on cutting-edge network modernization for the DOD - hands-on configuration, hybrid cloud work, and evening maintenance included.

Responsibilities of the Senior Infrastructure Engineer include:

• Lead network migration efforts from JRSS to AGUN infrastructure
• Configure & maintain secure network solutions, including virtualization platforms
• Support after-hours maintenance windows (typically Tuesday-Thursday evenings) and participate in planned ASIs (Authorized Service interruptions)
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with DOD standards & integrate monitoring data into SIEM tools
• Review engineering documentation & prepare systems for migration activities
• Travel occasionally (10%) to Army bases for on-site support when needed

Qualifications of the Senior Infrastructure Engineer include:

• 12+ years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree
• 10+ years of experience or a Master's Degree
• Certified Cisco Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent
• Willing to work evening shifts (Tues-Thus, including ASIs from 6pm-6am)
• Able to travel up to 10% for on-site support at Army bases
• Linux shell scripting experience
• Hands-on experience with GitLab Ci/CD pipelines, JIRA & Confluence
• Knowledge of network performance monitoring, optimization, and SIEM integration
• Experience with virtualization & containerization platforms
• Active 8570/8140 Certifications (Security+, CISSP, CEH, …)
• Active Secret Clearance

Compensation for the Senior Infrastructure Engineer includes:

• Salary Range: $110,000-130,000 **depending on experience**
