Platform Infrastructure Engineer (Secret Clearance)

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Platform Infrastructure Engineer to join a National Security Contract located in Annapolis Junction, MD through 100% full onsite presence. The Platform Infrastructure Engineer will build and maintain the behind-the-scenes technology that keeps important government systems running smoothly and security. The Platform Infrastructure Engineer will work onsite with a team to ensure everything is fast, reliable, and protected from cyber threats.

Responsibilities of the Platform Infrastructure Engineer include:

• Deploy & manage servers & virtual machines using VMware, vCenter, Kickstart, Puppet, Foreman, & CIS-CAT
• Patch & maintain systems using Red Hat Satellite Server
• Conduct cybersecurity vulnerability assessments & penetration testing
• Develop & maintain security incident response plans
• Configure & manage host-based security systems
• Develop & implement automation scripts & tools to streamline deployments & system management
• Apply DevOps methodologies & support IaC within RHEL containers
• Manage application integration using networking concepts like TCP/IP, routing & firewalls
• Use tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, IBM NetCool & SolarWinds for system monitoring

Qualifications of the Platform Infrastructure Engineer include:

• 12+ years of experience in IT or a similar field
• 4+ years of experience working with OpenShift
• Experience with VMware, vCenter, Kickstart, Puppet, Foreman, CIS-CAT
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Red Hat Satellite Server
• Experience with DevOps tools and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, IBM NetCool, SolarWinds
• Experience with cybersecurity practices: vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, incident response
• Experience with network concepts: TCP/IP, routing, firewalls
• Preferred: Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA)
• Active Secret clearance

Compensation for the Platform Infrastructure Engineer includes:

• Salary Range: $120,000-$130,000 **depending on experience**
