Thermal Blanket Production Manager

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Thermal Blanket Production Manager to join a National Defense Contract in Midland, TX through 100% on site presence. The Thermal Blanket Production Manager will oversee the installation of multi-layer insulation (MLI) blankets for satellites, ensuring zero defects and reliable thermal control in space. The Thermal Blanket Production Manager will lead high-performance team in a fast-paced production environment, optimizing installation procedures, and collaborating with engineering and supply chain teams to meet mission-critical deadlines. Additionally, the Thermal Blanket Production Manager is responsible for process improvements, resource coordination, and reporting production metrics while supporting a high-volume satellite assembly line.

Responsibilities of the Thermal Blanket Production Manager include:

• Manage thermal blanket operations in a high-volume satellite production facility
• Lead and mentor a high-performance installation team with 24/7 operations
• Develop installation procedures and optimize repair methodologies
• Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to streamline installation
• Coordinate with supply chain teams to ensure timely material delivery
• Track production metrics and report performance to executive management
• Travel to suppliers and launch sites as needed for oversight and coordination

Qualifications of the Thermal Blanket Production Manager include:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
• Hands-on experience installing Multi-Layer Insulation (MLI) blankets on spacecraft
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, and Microsoft Office tools
• Strong leadership, organization, and customer service skills
• Familiar with budgeting, cost control, and industrial manufacturing operations
• Excellent communication skills & attention to detail
• Open to travel up to 25%

Compensation for the Thermal Blanket Production Manager includes:

• Salary Range: $120,000-130,000 **depending on experience**
