Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Microelectronics Engineer with deep expertise in technology development to support the Principal Director for Microelectronics within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)). This is a hybrid position located in Arlington, VA. The engineer will work closely with the Government Program Manager to drive the strategic and technical execution of this national initiative.
Responsibilities of the Microelectronics Engineer:
- Monitor and manage ongoing tasks, ensuring timely responses and alignment with strategic and technical goals.
- Assist the Executive Director in managing and executing various components of the Microelectronics Commons program.
- Collaborate with Technical Area Leads to address technical and programmatic challenges and opportunities.
- Support the Workforce Development Technical Lead in coordinating education and training initiatives.
- Contribute to the creation and refinement of technical roadmaps, project summaries, abstracts, whitepapers, and briefing materials.
- Help shape microelectronics strategies, develop issue papers, and explore funding pathways for senior DoD decision-makers.
- Evaluate technical proposals and provide recommendations for Microelectronics Commons projects.
- Aid in the oversight of prototyping facilities that validate innovations in microelectronics at scale.
- Engage with stakeholders across military branches, industry, and academia to align technologies and workforce strategies with program goals.
- Assist in the development and evaluation of Other Transaction Authority (OTA) Requests for Solutions (RFS).
- Organize and support program reviews, meetings, and planning sessions.
Qualifications of the Microelectronics Engineer:
- 10+ years of experience in technology development and hardware prototyping.
- Skilled in preparing and delivering technical briefings and documentation.
- Familiarity with DoD structures, budgeting processes, and inter-office coordination.
- Experience supporting STEM workforce development initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Degree in engineering or a related technical field:
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
Compensation for the Microelectronics Engineer:
· Pay Range: $150,000-$170,000
