Senior Network Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join a Federal Program headquartered in Rockville, MD.

Responsibilities of the Senior Network Engineer include:

·      Lead a team of network engineers and serve as the primary liaison with client counterparts

·      Demonstrated expertise with NetScaler Citrix (Required)

·      Perform network software upgrades on Cisco switches

·      Diagnose and resolve complex network issues (Expert level)

·      Participate in and support the Vulnerability Remediation process

·      Maintain, update, and implement technical documentation and SOPs for network security

·      Troubleshoot Cisco IPsec VPN connectivity and configurations

·      Experience working with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)

·      Develop and maintain SolarWinds automation scripts

·      Configure and manage Cisco ASA 5500 / Firepower firewalls

·      Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls and Panorama management

·      Analyze PCAP files using Wireshark for traffic analysis

·      In-depth understanding of LAN, WAN, wireless, and other network technologies

·      Familiarity with Change Management processes

·      Handle TLS certificate renewals and installations

·      Utilize tools such as Riverbed, Splunk, and others for advanced troubleshooting

Qualifications for the Senior Network Engineer include:

·      7+ years of hands-on experience with Cisco ASA Firewall 5500 and Cisco Firepower, as well as NetScaler Citrix.

·      Proficient in performing Cisco switch network software upgrades.

·      Expert-level ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.

·      Strong skills in updating technical documentation and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for network security (required).

·      Willingness to work onsite during after-hours and weekend maintenance windows

·      Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Network Security Groups (NSGs)

·      Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.

Compensation for the Senior Network Engineer includes:

·      Salary Range: $140,000 - $175,000 depending on experience
