Software Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer in Merrifield, VA

Responsibilities of the Software Engineer include:

·      Maintain and enhance existing C-based postal automation control software.

·      Provide configuration management and software development support.

·      Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure software reliability and performance.

·      Utilize Eclipse-like IDEs, GNU compilers, debugging tools, and Git for development and version control.

·      Support additional application development projects using C++ or C# on Windows platforms.

·      Participate in software installations, testing, and vendor meetings, which may require occasional travel.

Qualifications for the Software Engineer include:

·      Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related engineering field.

·      Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in C software development.

·      Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation tasks.

·      Experience with UNIX-like real-time operating systems.

·      Familiarity with Eclipse IDE, GNU toolchain, and Git.

·      Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

·      Public Trust Eligibility

Compensation for the Software Engineer include:

·      Salary: $100,000-110,000 **Depending on Experience and Education Level**
