Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking multiple Satellite Electrical Integration Engineers to join our team in Midland, TX. In this role, you’ll support the final electrical integration and testing of satellites before launch. You’ll work closely with internal engineering teams, launch vehicle providers, and ground support personnel to ensure spacecraft are safely tested and prepared for integration with the launch vehicle. This is a hands-on role at launch sites and requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in high-pressure environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the on-site electrical engineering representative during satellite integration with launch vehicles.
- Perform final electrical integration and testing of satellites at launch sites.
- Collaborate with launch vehicle providers and ground support teams to ensure compliance with all interface and electrical requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during pre-launch operations.
- Ensure safe and effective use of electrical ground support equipment (EGSE).
- Maintain documentation and provide detailed reporting of all launch site activities.
- Ensure all hardware and procedures meet safety, quality, and launch provider standards.
- Work closely with mission assurance teams to verify system readiness.
- Collaborate with systems, electrical, and software engineers to support integrated operations and resolve issues.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- At least 2 years of experience in satellite integration and testing or related satellite experience.
- Experience with environmental testing and spaceflight hardware.
- Proficiency with engineering tools such as MATLAB, Python, and GitLab.
- Strong understanding of launch site safety procedures and environmental controls.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments and travel domestically and internationally for launch campaigns, sometimes for extended periods.
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required.
- Must be able to pass a background check to access an active U.S. military base.
Compensation:
- Salary range is $80,000 to $125,000 depending on experience.
