Ground Systems Integration Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is looking for a Ground Systems Integration Engineer to support a mission-focused team dedicated to streamlining satellite operations. This is a hybrid role located in Arvada, CO, requiring 2 days on-site a week. You’ll play a key role in integrating emerging satellite platforms and onboard software into a cutting-edge mission management system. You’ll collaborate with a cross-functional team and key stakeholders to convert complex operational needs into scalable, reliable solutions.

Responsibilities of the Ground Systems Integration Engineer:  

• Integrate satellite systems and onboard software with the mission operations platform.
• Partner with clients to break down mission objectives and design integration strategies.
• Utilize industry protocols like CCSDS, CSP, CFDP, XTCE, and MIB.
• Diagnose and resolve issues at the software-hardware interface level.
• Contribute to the development of scalable and maintainable integration frameworks.
• Manage encryption and data packet formatting, including XDC files and proprietary formats.
• Excel in a fast-moving environment that requires innovative thinking and adaptability.

Qualifications of the Ground Systems Integration Engineer:  

• 3+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, preferably in integration-heavy environments
• Strong programming skills in Python, C++, or Java.
• Background in embedded systems and hardware-software interfacing.
• Experience with satellite communication standards (e.g., CCSDS, CSP, CFDP).
• Familiarity with telemetry and command data formats (e.g., XTCE, MIB).
• Understanding of encryption techniques (e.g., AES-256 GCM, NSA Type 1).
• Experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS (Lambda, ECS, EKS, EC2).
• Proficiency with Git/GitHub and open-source development tools.
• TS/SCI Security Clearance

Compensation of the Ground Systems Integration Engineer:  

·      $140,000-$170,000 per year (based on experience)
