Sr. Systems Engineer (TS/SCI)

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer to support a classified program for National Geospatial Agency in Rancho Bernardo, CA. The team is seeking an experienced engineer to provide Operations and Maintenance for Advanced GEOINT Services, in support of imagery intelligence and analysis for the NSG Allied System for Geospatial Intelligence. 

Clearance: Active Top Secret/SCI

Location: Rancho Bernardo, CA (100% on-site)

Responsibilities of the Sr. Systems Engineer:

• Gather requirements from the customer and analyze needs
• Collaborate with software and system test teams to develop Concept of Operations (CONOPS)
• Lead integration and test of several software baselines
• Create technical documentation such as user guides and sprint planning
• Design and implement systems administration solutions to meet project and operational requirements.
• Oversee, organize, and execute software upgrades and patches.
• Develop and modify scripts or applications to automate tasks.
• Offer suggestions to enhance the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment.
• Work with other teams and colleagues to create automation strategies and deployment processes.

 Qualifications of the Sr. Systems Engineer:

• Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance
• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering/technical disciplines and 8+ years of relevant software systems experience
• Proficiency in User Interface design and development practices.
• Experience collaborating with customers and end users within the DoD and/or Intelligence Community.
• Familiarity with Agile management tools (e.g., Jira).
• Proficiency with configuration management tools (e.g., Git).
• Knowledge of open, standards-based architectures, interfaces, and geospatial data.
• Extensive knowledge of Linux, specifically RedHat.
• Understanding of VMWare and virtualization concepts.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, and/or Python.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Proven experience managing remote systems via command line.

Compensation of the Sr. Systems Engineer:  

• Total compensation based on experience level - $150,000 - $180,000+ **based on experience level**
