Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Systems Administrator to join a Federal Program located on Springfield, VA. The Systems Administrator will support the Department of Defense by ensuring the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of cloud systems, resolving infrastructure issues, and enhancing system reliability and performance.
Responsibilities of the System Administrator include:
· Provide support with the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of cloud systems.
· Identify and resolve issues related to applications, operating systems, hardware, communications, or other infrastructure components as necessary.
· Prepare and submit problem reports to relevant leads such as Amazon/C2S, NGA-ESC, etc.
· Provide support for escalating issues and communicating status updates to agency management and internal customers.
· Install and configure operating systems and application software.
· Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues involving applications, operating systems, hardware, and communications infrastructure.
· Troubleshoot, maintain, and configure network components, and implement operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
· Integrate new technologies into existing systems, including transitioning and migrating corporate systems.
· Monitor and report on system health using various dashboarding tools such as Elasticsearch Kibana, AWS Cloudwatch, etc.
Qualifications for the System Administrator include:
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
· Minimum 5+ years of experience in related field.
· Active TS/SCI with CI scope Polygraph is required.
· Demonstrated proficiency with the AWS C2S Suite and tools, including creating SNS Topics, IAM users/roles/policies, and managing S3 bucket policies.
· Experience in troubleshooting and providing AWS technical support, including connecting to EC2 instances, monitoring with Kibana Elastic & Cloud Watch, and using ServiceNow, Jira, and Confluence.
· Expertise in container platform infrastructure (EKS, ECS), coding/scripting in Python, and managing Linux/Windows systems with extensive AWS Cloud Formation knowledge.
· Ability to administer account creation and management on Linux servers using LDAP, and support CI/CD pipelines with GitLab.
Compensation for the System Administrator includes:
· Salary Range: $125,000 - $145,000 depending on experience
