VMware Engineer - SECRET

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a VMware Engineer to join our team supporting a Homeland Security customer based in Annapolis Junction, MD. The VMWare Engineer will have a strong background in VMware technologies and be passionate about designing, implementing, and maintaining virtualization solutions in a mission-critical environment. This position requires an active SECRET clearance.

This position opens for applications on 4/2. The posting will remain open for applications for 30 days.

Responsibilities of the VMware Engineer:

• Design and implement VMware vSphere solutions for server consolidation, high availability, and disaster recovery.
• Configure and maintain VMware ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, and components.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize resource utilization.
• Provision, deploy, and manage VMs, templates, and snapshots.
• Implement and maintain security measures, including access controls, network segmentation, and VM isolation.
• Create and maintain documentation for configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting.

Qualifications of the VMware Engineer:

• 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of VMware vSphere features and capabilities, including vCenter Server, ESXi hosts, vMotion, HA, DRS, and vSAN.
• Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery methodologies for virtualized environments.
• Active Secret clearance.

Compensation for the VMware Engineer:

• Salary: $75,000-120,000/year *flexible based on experience*
