Network Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is currently seeking a Network Engineer who will support a government contract located in Ft. Belvoir, VA.

Responsibilities for the Network Engineer:

• Work with Government engineers to develop and maintain the AECC architecture.

• Develop, deploy, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for deployment and sustainment of the VMware NSX network architecture in the AECC.

• As applications are hosted on the AECC solution, utilize IaC for the provisioning of the network foundation for customer enclaves.

• Provide daily administration of the network to include patching and upgrading of all VMware network components in coordination with the full suite of VMware products.

• Monitor health and utilization of the network resources and notify the AECC lead when critical issues arise, and additional resources will be required.

• Harden the network per commercial best practices and the required government cybersecurity controls.

• Troubleshooting and root cause analysis of any hosting platform network issues.

• Develop and maintain system, infrastructure, and process documentation (system diagrams, network topology, software configurations, device configurations, standard operating procedures).

Qualifications for the Network Engineer:

·      8 years of relative experience

·      Secret Clearance

·      Knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, OR VMWare

·      Bachelors Degree in a related field and IAT Level II cert

Compensation for the Network Engineer:

• $120,000 – $145,000 *Depending on Experience.
