Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Animal Care Technician to join a growing contemporary drug discovery and development company located in Denver, PA . The Animal Care Technician is responsible for providing daily care and support for rabbits within a barrier production facility, ensuring the health, welfare, and proper handling of animals while maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant environment.
Responsibilities for the Animal Care Technician Include:
- Ability to follow established protocols, maintain accurate records, and contribute to a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Follows intricate protocol to ensure the health and welfare of the animals in care.
- Demonstrates passion for animal welfare with a desire to work directly with animals on a daily basis.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays on a rotating schedule, early mornings for shipments, and overtime as business needs require.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and frequently bend, squat, reach, push, pull, and perform physically demanding tasks in a production setting.
Qualifications for the Animal Care Technician Include:
- 1+ year of animal care, husbandry, veterinary, laboratory animal, or agricultural experience preferred.
- Experience working in a farm-like environment with animal odors, noise, and production conditions.
- Strong attention to detail, positive attitude, initiative, and team-oriented mindset.
- Comfortable cleaning animal areas, power washing cages, and performing facility sanitation duties.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; ALAT certification or related animal care certification highly preferred.
Compensation for the Animal Care Technician Includes:
Salary Range: $18/hr.
