Sr. Java Developer (Columbia, MD)

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Java Developer to join a leading government contractor based in Columbia, MD. The Senior Java Developer will support the development and maintenance of enterprise-level applications in a collaborative, agile environment. This position is hybrid in Columbia, MD!

Responsibilities of the Senior Java Developer include:

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications using J2EE or Spring frameworks
• Utilize Java development tools such as Eclipse, JUnit, and Git for efficient coding and testing
• Develop and maintain web applications using HTML, JSP, and related technologies
• Write and maintain Unix/Linux shell scripts (e.g., bash, ksh, csh) to support automation and deployment
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement software solutions
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality deliverables
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and tools
• Support integration and deployment activities in a Linux/Unix environment

Qualifications for the Senior Java Developer include:

• 6+ years of hands-on Java development experience
• Experience with J2EE or other Java frameworks such as Spring
• Proficiency with Java development tools including Eclipse, JUnit, and Git
• 5+ years of experience with web development technologies (HTML, JSP, etc.)
• 5+ years of experience with Linux/Unix shell scripting (bash, ksh, csh, etc.)
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Secret Clearance is required

Compensation for the Senior Java Developer includes:

• Salary: $130,000 – $150,000
• Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Sick Leave as required by law, and Holidays
