Configuration Management SME

Job Summary:

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Configuration Management SME to spearhead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of a configuration management strategy on a fully remote basis. The chosen candidate will work collaboratively across development, testing, and production settings to implement, oversee, and maintain configuration management tools and practices.

Responsibilities of the Configuration Management SME:

• Drive the formulation, execution, and ongoing refinement of a robust configuration management strategy
• Partner with teams across development, testing, and production to implement, oversee, and maintain configuration management tools and practices.
• Support the identification, oversight, reporting, and delivery of program outputs related to configuration.
• Combine the technical deployment of configuration management tools with an evaluation of process requirements and resource alignment to optimize practices.
• Streamline processes across teams, coordinating inputs and outputs to enhance efficiencies and deliver high-quality results.
• Guarantee compatibility among component versions through diligent management and oversight.

Qualifications for the Configuration Management SME

• 8+ years of experience in crafting configuration and change management processes and methodologies, with a proven track record of establishing and executing a configuration and change management strategy.
• 8+ years of experience in identifying controlled artifacts (configuration items) and applying standard CM control processes.
• Proficient in designing, implementing, supporting, monitoring, and maintaining systems using Ansible or other open-source technologies across diverse environments, including cloud and on-premise infrastructures.
• Experience executing Configuration and Change Management processes within a governmental framework.
• Advanced skills in validating and documenting the compatibility of system components, including monitoring for configuration drift.
• Strong familiarity with source control tools and technologies (preferably Git or similar distributed repository systems).
• Background in system architecture and engineering disciplines.
• Experience managing integrated Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) solutions (e.g., JIRA integration with Confluence, Git/Bitbucket).
• Experience deploying cloud platform-as-a-service solutions with Amazon AWS.
• Skilled in developing and maintaining configuration management system tools, scripts, procedures, and documentation.
• Must be a U.S. citizen capable of obtaining Public Trust Suitability.

Compensation for the Configuration Management SME:

·      Pay Range: $130,000-$145,000 **depending on experience**

·      Benefits Package: Cigna Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, etc.

·      100% remote structure
